I just posted yesterdays TT doings right before this post. You all MUST try that workout. Mmmmmhmmm.... and then let me know if we are still talking to each other. ;)
In other news:
Today I opened a 25kg drum of Guar Gum and the powder poofed up into a cloud and stuck to my eyeballs (it’s very hydroscopic – attracted to water). Now, there’s something you don’t do every day. It took 3 hours of periodic rinsing with saline to get clear vision again. Sticks – like – glue. How can that possibly be good for us?
TT challenge – WEEK 7, DAY 3
I’ve started tidying up my challenge log. It’s been a bit of a mess with starts and restarts, but over the next few days I’ll make it all nice and neat, just like my new state of mind (blog readers - you'll just have to put up with the clutter, besides which you are all brainy enough to follow my wandering ways quite adequately, no explanation necessary). It’s quite funny. I’ve sharpened up, my desk is tidy, my kitchen is clean, I’m de-cluttering my life. It feels great. I’m supposing that my challenge (and pre-challenge) log will be an interesting insight into how my mentality developed through some focussed training and getting control of my eating. It does effect my whole life when I really look after myself.
.
Training
20 minutes of interval cardio on the stationary bike, using the 2 mins rest, 1 min work intervals. I have been using 30 second intervals up until now and my brain and body didn’t know what was going on at the 31 second mark!
I was a lot less sore from yesterdays workout than I thought I’d be. I’ve noticed a real increase in energy since last week when I decided to really put 100% into my training sessions. It’s not something you can really see on paper, but it’s to do with not going easy on myself when I ‘want’ to. I know if I’m training effectively or if I’m just going through the motions. That mental focus makes a lot of difference.
Eats.
Four days no chocolate bar. I’m really focusing on getting some variety into my diet because I could feel a distinct lack of food inspiration (foodspiration?) coming over me, and it’s at times like that, when I am underwhelmed by my planned dinner, that I tend to have a ‘what the hell’ moment and stuff my face with burgers before my brain can register what is happening. I don’t think I’ll ever get sick of oatwhites though… I could eat them 4 times a day. Is there anything better than oats? They even keep for something like 25 years without spoiling. The Quakers discovered that little fact when they were checking their doomsday stocks.
1. Oatwhites with berries and greek yogurt. 6 x Omega 3 caps
2. Fish penne with tomato salsa and veges. Carrot sticks
3. Protein cookie, 6 Omega 3 caps
4. Spiced vege and tuna melt (low-fat feta on slow baked spicy veges and tuna.
5. Protein cookie (again – I may have a new addiction)

I'm curious - are oatwhites oat & eggwhites, separately, or do you somehow combine them and eat them together?
ReplyDeleteI make pancakes out of eggwhites & oatbran (and sometimes zucchini or spinach) so it would be possible. . .
(btw, I'm a totaly lurker, but enjoying your blog!)
There's nothing better than oats.
