Um.. I finally hit my limit with attempting to update my 2006 blog template and rashly upgraded to this new, hot off the press 'dynamic views' template. It's the latest thing. See that little drop down menu to the upper left there?
<------
You can play with that to make the blog look however YOU want. It's all about you here.
I'm finding it all a bit scary. Where is my sidebar (and hence, where do I stick your links)? Where are the archives? How do I drive this thing?
Anyway, let me know what you think.
I had a play with this when it first appeared and I found it scary too, so it's not just you.
ReplyDeleteI think a blog needs a sidebar, no matter how you set up the main part of the page - it's just easier to navigate that way. Hmm, are there tabs with this layout? If so, where are they...?
Do you mean the tabs at the top of the page? You have to add 'pages' in the blogger module.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if I'll stick with this or not yet. It's a REAL pain not being able to get to the HTML.
Yep, those tab thingies - that's what I meant.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure you can get to the html... don't really know HOW, but I bet there's a way. Isn't there an option in the post window? Hang on, I'll try it out with my house blog and see what I can find...
Be right back!
Hmm, nup - you can't modify the template html. You CAN get to the html in posts and pages, but that's no help if the layout won't work.
ReplyDeleteNo widgets either. I'm not mad about it.
I chose to view your blog in the 'old' version!
ReplyDeleteI'm not savvy with the new stuff.
I admire your bravery...
ReplyDeleteI really like the look of dynamic views so I tried it out with a blog that gets no views.
I switched back as it'sj ust too hard to customize for a tech klutz like me. I missed being able to fool around in design mode, adding widgets etc. All my 'special'things dissappeared!I've spent too much time and effort customizing to have it all wiped.
Guess I'll just have too wait until it gets more user friendly.Definitately a pretty swish look though.
