Away it goes!

Off into the land of 'finished assignments', my first effort towards Intro to Food and Nutrition 214.131. I've learned a few things along the way, like why my Grandmother boils her veges to mushy, flavourless death. Apparently, in the 40's and 50's, cooking books would instruct the housewife to boil vegetables for 20-30 minutes (long enough to get the kids in bed and pretty yourself up for the arrival of the working man). In modern times veges are usually cooked in less than 5 mins, it's 8pm, the kids got themselves into bed and the man of the house is the one doing the cooking while mum is at her belly dancing class.

And, for those of you that like those numbers, here are the pages of my Assignment.

Summary and Averages

I have to admit, I did simplify things a bit.. for example, it wasn't ALWAYS brocolli I was eating, but a green vege is a green vege. My pruffins are that high in Vitamin A. I had to go and check it because it looked suspect, but the kumara (sweet potato) has massive Vit A content. Compared to the RDI I'm looking pretty good - my Vitamin C and Vitamin A intake is well above the RDI, otherwise pretty much right on the number. I'm fully nutriented.
