I have had many friends called Tony. At one stage many years ago I had to categorise them into Big Tony, Middle Tony and Little Tony as per relative height. Then I needed more categories so I started with Tony C, Tony G, until there were double ups. I may have to resort to numbers. Never call your child Tony, it gets too confusing later in life.
Tony-in-Melbourne sent me a poem yesterday that I'm going to edit down (it's huge) and post here. I don't agree 100% with every sentiment here, but there is a lot of truth within these words and it reminds me of the most important things, move on, avoid bitterness, stay open, love life.
If you love something, let it go
If it comes back to you it's yours,
If it doesn't, it never was.
You never know how hard it will be
or how long it will last
Good friends are like stars..
You don't always see them,
but you know that they are always there
It hurts to love someone, and not be loved in return
but what is more painful, is to love someone
and never find the courage to let that person know how you feel
There are things that you'd love to hear it
that you would never hear from that person whom you
would like to hear it from
but don't be too deaf to hear it
from the one who says it from the heart
Love comes to those who still
hope although they have been disappointed
To those who still believe, and
those who have the courage and faith to build
trust again
Don't go for the looks, they can deceive
Don't go for the wealth: even that fades away
Go for someone who can make you smile
because it takes only a smile to
make a dark day seem bright
Hope you find the one who makes you smile
Dream what you want to dream
Go where you want to go, be what you want to be
because you have one life and one change to do all the things you want to do
A careless word may kindle and strife
A cruel word may wreck a life
A timely word may leave stress
A loving word may heal and bless
When you were born, you were crying
and everyone around you was smiling
Live life so that when you die
You're the one who's smiling
and everyone around you is crying.
